    Opening Without Trim

We recommend the door be minimum of (4 inches) wider and (2 inches) taller than your door opening.  This ensures proper coverage and privacy.

    Opening With Trim

We recommend that when your door is fully closed that it completely covers the doorway trim.  Thus the door width and height should be the same or greater than the widest and tallest point of your doorway trim.

    *FLOOR GUIDE

All track kits include the floor guide of your choice.  The purpose of a floor guide is to secure the bottom of the door in place.  With no floor guide installed the bottom of the door is left free to swing in and out from the wall causing potential damage to the door and baseboard.

Floor Mounted Fin:  This is our standard guide and mounts directly to the floor.  It then rides in a groove that is cut in the bottom of the door.  This guide is NOT compatible with Signature Woods steel banded doors.  Please use a channel guide for steel banded doors.
Adjustable Wall Mounted Fin:  This guide is ideal for applications where the floor is concrete, tile, stone, or marble and drilling into it is not desireable. It also allows for adjustments to be made between the bottom of the door and the wall.
Floor Mounted Channel:  This is a floor mounted guide that is specifically designed for our steel banded doors.  This guide will also work with any door that cannot/does not have a slot cut in the bottom of the door.
Adjustable Wall Mounted Channel:  This guide is ideal for applications where the floor is concrete, tile, stone, or marble and drilling into it is not desirable. This guide operates exactly like the floor mounted channel guide.

    *ADD HARDWARE FOR MULTIPLE DOORS

Includes rollers, motion stops, and floor guides.

    TRACK LENGTH

Multiply the selected width of one door by 4x, then round up to the nearest track length.

*WHAT SIDE SHOULD THE HANDLES GO ON?

When you purchase a flush mount handle for the back side of the door we install it for you! Because of that we need to know what side of the door it goes on.  To determine this please follow the instructions below:

When facing the front side of your barn door and it is fully closed, which direction will you slide it to open?  You will want your handles mounted on the opposite side.

EX: If your door opens to the right, you will want your handles mounted on the left side of the door.

A backer board is simply a board that is mounted to the wall behind your track hardware.  When needed the backer board will mount to the wall first.  Secondly, the track hardware will be fastened directly to the face of the backer board.  Please see the FAQ's for more details.

You will need a backer board if:

    • Wall studs are not spaced 16 inches on center
    • Doorway trim is being left on opening
    • Mounting to commercial sheet metal studs
