How to Choose the Right Barn Door Floor Guide
Let’s face it we all love barn doors. They look amazing and definitely make the neighbors and all of your guests jealous every time they come over. Sliding barn doors are also super functional and can save you a ton of space where a traditional swinging door in say a closet or bathroom would take up a lot of floor space. Because of this barn doors are very popular and Signature Woods is dedicated to making the highest quality reclaimed barn doors available. Though one common problem we find our customers have, despite the beauty, is how to choose a floor guide.
We’ve solved this problem by creating four very simple barn door floor guides. Each barn door floor guide has a specific function that will facilitate any installation application for your sliding barn door.
Floor Mounted Fin Guide
Our fin style barn door floor guide is perfect for most sliding barn door installations. It simply screws into the floor directly under one of the bottom corners of your barn door. The floor guide then then rides in a channel that we cut in the bottom of your barn door. Loosen the screws to adjust the floor guide and your sliding barn door away from or closer to the wall.

Much like the floor mounted fin style barn door floor guide, this barn door floor guide operates the exact same but instead mounts to the wall. Having a wall mounted guide is great for applications where the floor is tile, cement, stone, marble, or another hard surface that you’d rather not drill into. Again, this floor guide is fully adjustable.

This guide is designed for doors that cannot have a slot cut in the bottom of the barn door. Depending on where you by your sliding barn door you may or may not have a slot cut in the bottom for a fin style floor guide. If there is no slot or a slot is not able to be installed our channel barn door floor guide is the perfect solutions. Simply install one guide on either side of your door and fasten to the floor for a nice smooth glide.
